FELT exhibitions

The exhibitions represented here look at numerous aspects of felt in contemporary culture - aesthetic, functional and historical - and highlight the project-based side of FELT, the company.

Kathryn Walter has been involved in all of these projects either as artist or curator and the works reflect her background in sculpture, installation and critical studies. Sometimes formally, sometimes ironically she looks at the material qualities and social significance of felt. It can be worked as a surface as well as a structure and is associated with modern industrialization. As material, object or vehicle for critical analysis, felt is rich in scope.
